
At the age of 98, Irina Antonova, president of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after Pushkin and Honored Artist of the RSFSR died. About this writes RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the museum.
The museum later reported that Koronavirus became the cause of Antonova’s death.
Irina Antonova has been working in the Pushkin Museum since 1945. She headed the museum from 1961 to 2013, after which she took the president of the institution specially created for her. In 1974, under her leadership in the USSR, the painting “Mona Lisa” Leonardo da Vinci was first exhibited.
