Pobeda canceled more than a hundred flights to seven cities due to the transition of Russian airports to a new air navigation system

By the end of December, Pobeda Airlines canceled 110 flights to airports in seven cities due to the commissioning of a new air navigation system. Such calculations were carried out by RBC, their accuracy was confirmed by the airline itself.

The airline canceled 30% of flights to Astrakhan, Izhevsk, Kirov, Kurgan, Magas, Petrozavodsk and Yaroslavl. In an appeal to the pilots, the Pobeda management stated that new navigation data had not been published for the airports of these cities, which makes landing in them unsafe.

Earlier, the airline announced that in order not to cancel all flights to these cities, flight instructors will be introduced into the crews - they will help pilots land planes, focusing only on data received from dispatchers and paper maps.

• The new system will start operating at airports in the European part of Russia on December 3. Air navigation will be carried out using new designations and changed routes - the amendments will affect 49 airports and airfields and 242 sections of air routes. It is expected that the new scheme will reduce the workload of air traffic controllers and reduce aircraft delays due to maneuvering before landing.
• Due to the limited lead time for the transition, aeronautical data providers did not have time to provide a complete recoding of flight procedures at some airports.
