Investigators in the Trans-Baikal Territory have opened a criminal case against the head doctor of the hospital, who is suspected of bribery . This was reported to the regional Investigative Committee.
According to investigators, the chief physician of the regional clinical hospital of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Viktor Shalnev, used his official powers “to receive bribes from the head of a commercial organization in the form of so-called kickbacks for the smooth conclusion of contracts for the supply of medical equipment.”
Shalnev was detained in Sochi and brought to Chita. Searches were carried out in his apartment and office.
The Chita publication “Vechorka”, citing a source, writes that bribes could have been given, including for the purchase of gowns, masks and medical equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
