The Investigative Committee for the second time refused to initiate a criminal case in connection with the death of Irina Slavina

The Investigative Committee (IC) for the Nizhny Novgorod region for the second time refused to initiate a criminal case in connection with the death of journalist Irina Slavina. This was reported by MBKh Media.

Representatives of Slavina demanded that a case be opened under articles on “incitement to suicide” (Article 110 of the Criminal Code) or “inclination to suicide” (Article 110.1 of the Criminal Code).

In the refusal decision, the investigator indicated a high degree of probability of a “mixed personality disorder” in the journalist. “She often changed places of work, the reason was her lack of harmony and conflict. A tendency to form overly valuable ideas, in this case the idea of ​​fighting the existing government. She was an example of a bright ideological fighter. The very fact of the search was received with enthusiasm, she emphasized that by doing so the authorities responded to her struggle,” the publication quotes the document.

The investigator also concluded that the testimony of relatives and friends about the direct connection between the pressure of the security forces and the death of Slavina “was not confirmed.”

The lawyer of the Slavina family, Alexander Karavaev, explained to MBKh Media that he plans to appeal the refusal in court and go, among other things, to the ECHR.
