The Teenagers and Cats psychological assistance project has launched a petition demanding that the article in the case of a police officer who allegedly shot a schoolgirl in Moscow be toughened up. This was announced on Facebook by the artist Katrin Nenasheva.
On December 6, 2020, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that an employee of the teaching staff, being off duty, fired a traumatic weapon at a minor girl. The department did not name the policeman, later it turned out that it was about 33-year-old Ivan Knyazev. A case of hooliganism was brought against him and on December 7 he was sent under house arrest. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the dismissal of Knyazev. According to Life, the schoolgirl who was wounded by Knyazev claimed that he harassed her. Telegram channel 112 published recordings from CCTV cameras, on one of which the girl is trying to escape from the man, on the second , according to 112, the moment of the shot.
The authors of the petition demand that the case be reclassified from an article on hooliganism to the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm against a minor, violent acts of a sexual nature and hooliganism with the use of weapons.
According to the authors of the petition, "law enforcement officers intend to hide some facts of the crime in order to mitigate the punishment."
At the time of publication of the news, the petition was signed by 752 people.
