Kaliningrad: Residents of the village after two years achieved the installation of a pontoon

Under Kaliningrad, after two years of promises of officials in the village of Myskovka with an emergency river crossing, they began to mount a new pontoon. The work should be completed on December 25, the head of the administration of the Slavic city district, Eduard Kondratov, told North.

"Now the bridge is in the assembly stage, mounted up to 80 meters a day. Until Thursday, the bridge will be collected and moved to the place where the old bridge was located. So far, the old crossing was moved to the side and equipped with the access to the other side," the official said.

As specified in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, the work is under the control of the department. The district prosecutor filed a lawsuit against the administration of the Slavsky city district back in 2019, when it turned out that the crossing is faulty and dangerous for residents. In April 2019, the Slavsky District Court ordered local authorities to build a new bridge in Myskovka no later than December 25, 2019.

The authorities entered into a contract with a company from Ulyanovsk, bargaining 24 million. But in December, the authorities said that they could not agree with the contractor, since he provided a project that did not meet the requirements, proposing to establish the former pontoons.

Over the next year, the local administration in court terminated the contract with the contractor, announced an auction and entered into an agreement with a company from Kaliningrad. The amount of the contract increased to 36 million rubles. Part of the funds was allocated from the reserve fund of the region, Kondratov noted.

"The contractor promised to install a bridge from new pontoons, with a pedestrian area and lighting. We really hope. That the work will be completed by December 25," the head of the administration said.

Residents of the village of Myskovka, 160 kilometers from Kaliningrad, tried for several years to achieve a safe crossing instead of a holey pontoon bridge. The bridge is vital for them - the village in half shares the spill, and part of the villagers lives on the far shore.

The old bridge was without a railing with a hole in the middle. Emergency cars refused to drive along it, and people were constantly injured. Residents put metal patches on the bridge on their own. The only thing the local authorities did in 2019 did the boards around the puddle in the center of the bridge. Officials invited local residents to use a crossing of three kilometers from the village, according to the dam.
