The former general director of the St. Petersburg Metrostroy Nikolai Alexandrov was released on a recognizance not to leave. The term of his stay under house arrest expired on December 8. The investigation did not go to court with a petition to extend the preventive measure. This was reported by "Interfax" with reference to the regional UFSB.
Aleksandrov - accused in two criminal cases of embezzlement. Both are investigated by the FSB.
Nikolai Alexandrov was detained in December 2019. He and the directors of two more companies were accused of allegedly concluding a fictitious contract for the supply of raw materials under the guise of the execution of two state contracts. Investigators estimated the damage of 178 million rubles. Later, Alexandrov became the accused in the criminal case of the theft of 153 million rubles during the electrical work at the Frunze radius of the St. Petersburg metro. In January, the former head of Metrostroy was released under house arrest.
In St. Petersburg, the deadlines for the opening of new metro stations were repeatedly transferred, and the Metrostroy workers did not pay salaries for several months. The only company in the city, which officially builds the metro, several times tearing the time for entering three stations of the Frunze radius - "Danube", "Prospekt Slava" and "Shushara". After the opening, one of the stations was filled with water more than once, as reported by local residents on social networks.
