Bishop of Cherepovetsky was banned in the ministry due to the disobedience of the church

Bishop of Cherepovets and Belozersky Flavian (Maxim Mitrofanov) was banned in the priesthood due to violation of the decrees of the Synod. Such a decision was made on December 8 at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, according to the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Flaviana was also deprived of the right to wearing panagia, bishops and mantles, the use of any other signs of bishop dignity. The bishop was obliged to be in the Pavlo -Obnorsky monastery and not to leave it without "extreme necessity - according to the written blessing of the Grace of Vologda." Flavian's case will be considered by the Supreme General Church Court.

Metropolitan Vologda Savva informed RIA News that the bishop was banned in the service in connection with the failure to fulfill the instructions with the Holy Synod. "Details of the accusations and their investigations are not disclosed before the case in the highest general church court," Savva said.

Vologda Vladyka also added that the deadlines of the court session have not yet been defined and depend on the development of the epidemic situation.

According to the newspaper, drugs were discovered in the bishop’s apartment. Flavian lawyers stated that the information about the drugs "did not correspond to reality and defeats his honor and dignity."
