The Russian marketplace Wildberries entered the Israeli market, Reuters writes , citing a company statement.
Vyacheslav Ivashchenko, director of business development at Wildberries, said that the company is confident in "high development potential" in Israel, where it plans to present 5 million products from 39,000 brands. 600 partner delivery points will be opened in the country.
Earlier, the leader of Russian e-commerce opened sales in Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia. Together with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, where Wildberries has already worked, the geography of its presence already covers nine countries.
However, in the summer the company announced plans to enter ten foreign markets at once in 2020.
The story of the Wildberries company and its founder Tatyana Bakalchuk is a ready-made plot for an epic industrial drama: an English teacher from the Moscow region has become the richest woman in the country (only Elena Baturina is richer). But so far this story has been missing important details. The Bell unearthed them and for the first time told the true story of the Russian Amazon.
