Kremlin denies reports that Putin has two identical offices in Moscow and Sochi

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has dismissed reports that President Putin has secretly been working from two, identical offices (one near Moscow and one in Sochi) as “nonsense” and “not true.” In conversation with journalists on Wednesday, December 9, Peskov maintained that in his opinion, these reports have emerged as part of an “information attack” on the president.

It’s not true. What has been written, I repeat once again, are components of an information campaign, an information attack, which, of course, won’t be able to achieve its goal. It’s not true.

You know the president holds public events daily. There are no identical offices, the president has many offices in different cities, he uses them all and you see it all.

Earlier, Peskov said that the Kremlin is well aware of who the organizers “wishing to discredit” the president are, but refused to give names.

• On December 8, the website Proekt, citing several familiar sources, reported that Putin has been in Sochi ever since the end of the summer, though his press service says that the Russian president has been working in Moscow. According to Proekt, in order to pull this off without anyone noticing or figuring out the president’s real location, an office identical to the one at his Novo-Ogaryovo residence on the outskirts of Moscow was built for Putin at Bocharov Ruchey, his summer residence in Sochi.
