The recording was deleted a few minutes later, but Mazepine's subscribers managed to scatter it, after which the video spread to Reddit.

The record caused the indignation of many users. Some of them considered what was happening to Harassment (more often this conclusion was made by users who watched the edited version of the video where the girl’s face and gestures are not visible), many others simply called Mazepine’s behavior “stupid” and not corresponding to the image of the best racing series of the world. At Change.org there was a petition to exclude Mazepin from among the participants of Formula-1; In 14 hours, she scored 15 thousand signatures.

The Haas team, with which Mazepin signed a contract for a speech in Formula 1 a few days ago, said that he would conduct an internal investigation into the incident.

Mazepin himself on Twitter published a post with an apology for “inappropriate behavior” and for the very fact of publishing a video. “I have to adhere to higher standards as a racer of Formula 1 and I realize that with my actions I failed myself and many people. I promise that I will divert the lesson from this, ”the racer wrote. He was supported by the girl who came to the video, saying that he and Mazepin are good friends, and in the video "there was nothing serious." She emphasized that she herself posted a recording on the racer “as a joke” and apologized for this: “I give the word that he is a very good person and would never do something to offend me.”
