The State Duma in the first reading approved amendments tightening the legislation on rallies

The State Duma in the first reading adopted two bills of the United Russia deputy Dmitry Vyatkin on toughening the legislation on rallies. It is reported by RIA Novosti .

We are talking about the bills that Vyatkin introduced on November 17. The first obliges the organizers of rallies to report to the authorities on the sources of funding for the mass event. The organizers of the actions are proposed to prohibit receiving funds from foreign states and organizations, international organizations and movements, citizens of other countries, NGOs acting as foreign agents, citizens of the Russian Federation under 16 years of age and anonymous donors. In addition, it will be impossible to transfer funds from an account not opened in a Russian bank.

The second bill proposes to allow the courts to recognize the line for a single picket as a public event, as well as to prohibit holding actions near the buildings of "emergency services". Also, according to the initiative, journalists will be prohibited from "hiding the distinguishing feature of a representative of the media."
