Moscow December-2020 exceeded the “Sun Plan” by 300% and was ahead of schedule declared the lightest in the history of regular observations, according to the website of the Fobos Center “Meteove” . Clear weather was celebrated in the capital every day from December 5. Thus, the total time of sunlight was already more than 55 hours, which is three times longer.

Usually, December occupies the last place in the year in this indicator: according to the statistics of the metropolitan heliographer, only 18 sunshin are observed, or 8% of the possible one in a clear sky, the report said. So far, the record belonged to December 2002, when the sun shone 51 hours. In 2017, the December sun shone only 6 minutes, and 2018 - 12 hours, last year - 8 hours.

The current weather was the result of a very long period of abnormally high atmospheric pressure, meteorologists explained. More than 180 hours, barometers readings exceeded 761 mm RT. Art., which is ten times longer than the average values ​​of meteostatistics.

According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, cloudiness will begin to increase from Sunday in the metropolitan region, the probability of snow will increase on Monday, and the temperature will increase.
