In the Sverdlovsk region, the prosecutor's office will check the complaints of a girl from a large family about bullying by her mother

The prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region began checking a complaint that a resident of the village of Pavda was improperly caring for six children, TASS reports.

The Mash telegram channel reported about the children’s complaints. According to him, 16-year-old Alina (the girl’s name has been changed) ran away from home and said that her mother could not feed her and her brothers and sisters for several days and beat her. According to her, if one of the children refuses to complain about a relative, each family member spits in his face. The girl said that they sleep on the floor and cover themselves with jackets.

Alina claims that she could not stand this attitude and left home. The girl walked 40 kilometers before meeting with the police.

Updated December 17 at 10:55 am. The Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk Region opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture of a known minor). The maximum penalty under this article is up to seven years in prison.
