Dyukov enlisted the support of Premier League clubs before the election of the head of the RFU

Clubs of the Russian Premier League (RPL) at the general meeting supported the candidacy of Alexander Dyukov as a candidate for the post of president of the Russian Football Union (RFU), whose elections are scheduled for February 4.

The former president of Zenit has been holding this post since February 2019.

The candidacy of the 53-year-old Dyukov, for re-election to the post of head of the RFU, previously nominated the Interregional Association of Football Federation of the North-West. The nomination of candidates will last until December 28.

The clubs at the general meeting also nominated in the Executive Committee of the RFU of the President of Krasnodar Sergey Galitsky, the chairman of the board of directors of Dynamo Yuri Solovyov and the General Director of Rubin, Rustema Saymanov.

Thus, the current members of the executive committee - President of CSKA Evgeny Giner and the owner of Spartak Leonid Fedun - will not be included in his new composition. In addition to Fedun and Giner, among the losers in a secret vote, the owner of Sochi Boris Rotenberg is also listed.

In addition, the meeting was performed by the head coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov, who turned to clubs with a request to transfer the 23rd RPL tour to another date in the interests of the national team. Clubs made Cherchesov’s appeal, the decision will be made after consulting with the head coaches of the teams.
