Dozens of businessmen and the producer of the "affectionate May" wished to redeem the terrible Novovoronezh Alenka - "Monument of 2020"

In Novovoronezh, three days after the installation, a monument was dismantled by the founder of the settlement Alenka, who terrified the locals. Now, for the right to possess a sculpture, which has already become a meme in social networks, businessmen and producer of the Affectionate May group Andrei Razin are fighting.

Alenka, which local authorities call the "art object", was established on December 18 by the 250th anniversary of the village of New Alenovka, on the site of which the city of Novovoronezh is now standing. According to legend, Alenka was a walker, that is, she was engaged in the search for lands for the settlement. Tradition says that she came to the Don from the city of Lebedyan and called her fellow villagers to a new good place at the stream. Alenka herself did not have to live there: she was killed by the robber Kudeyar.

“This legend, beautiful in content, was born among the people as an attempt to comprehend the name of the river (stream), give him an explanation. The people created the image of a woman Alenka, who made good people and died under tragic circumstances,” the city administration website says.

The image of Alenka, embodied in the metal, turned out to be terrible. In social networks, he was compared with the characters of horror films, musician Marilyn Manson, white walkers from the series Game of Thrones. According to the local journalist Vsevolod Inyutin, the installation of the sculpture was a key and most cost event for the 250th anniversary of the New Alens, it should contribute to the "patriotic education" of residents.

The author of the project was the famous sculptor Alexander Zhilin, the former chairman of the board of the regional Union of Architects, the Russian service BBC reports. The money was allocated by the ATR NPP fund in the "Rosatom". According to officials, Alenka cost up to a million rubles.

“Yes, the girl’s figure seems a little overweight and bulky, and the look is heavy, but this is only because it is difficult to work with metal,” explained the head of the Novovoronezh Vladimir Leshchenko. The author of the sketch of the monument, Alexander Shilin, said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda that he made a person "more likely": "But what happened during the acceptance, I do not know, did not take part in this." According to Leshchenko, the initiative group, which participated in the creation and installation of sculpture, will decide the further fate of Alenka.

Voronezh restaurateur Nikolai Shalygin reported on Facebook that the authorities of the Novovoronezh already received more than 50 applications for the ransom of the Alenka monument. The businessman himself proposed to leave the statue in Voronezh, "making it a tourist attraction." The city administration launched on its page on the VKontakte social network a survey on what to do with Alenka.

Not only local entrepreneurs, but also Moscow ones became interested in sculpture. Restaurateur Boris Zarkov told the Moscow 24 television channel that he was ready to spend several hundred thousand rubles on Alenka. “This is a reflection of our reality, and it will look great in my yard. Maybe in Sochi some kind of restaurant. This is a very wonderful job, in my personal opinion,” he said.

Andrei Razin wished to buy the art object. He wrote on his Instagram that he wanted to save him as "a reminder of the outgoing 2020 - the most difficult and terrible not only for Russia, but for the whole world."

In Novovoronezh, a gloomy monument to Alyonka was erected. In social networks, he was compared with white walkers, medieval sculptures and heroes of horror films.
