Also in the TOP-5 of the oldest trees in Russia was the Lonely Warrior Pine on the island of Olkhon, whose age is 606 years old, the press service of the Driver Baikalia Reserve Directorate reports .
The list of five oldest trees from the national registry includes pine from Khakassia, oak from the Pskov region and Dagestan. The age of the trees is determined during a joint expedition of the participants in the partnership programs "Trees - Monuments of wildlife" and "Tree of Baikal".
Experts examined old -growing trees with the help of special devices - a resistors and a pulsed tomograph. The technique made it possible to obtain complete data on the condition of the tree and draw up a plan of care and healing without an injury, reports rosdrevo.ru.
"Olkhon’s guard" is included in the national register of old -age trees and the register of Baikal rarity trees.
