Dear colleagues, a new one is approaching, 2021. And we all really want this terrible year to finally end, the survivors to quickly vaccinated and we were all able to return to a more or less normal lifestyle. Fortunately, the leaders of our country, unlike the leaders of some other countries, introducing various restrictions on the period of Christmas and New Year's holidays, subtly feel the soul of our people.

Rus', as the holy Equal -to -the -Apostles Prince Vladimir said, "there is a fun of Pete, we cannot without that." Since then, little has changed. The period starting with Catholic Christmas and ending with the old New Year is especially important for us in this regard: at this time, every respectable Russian drinks and bites on corporate parties, in a family and related circle, with friends and acquaintances. This is our spiritual scraping, and no coronavirus is able to destroy it! But of course, it is necessary to remember about the virus, so it is necessary, being in the company of loved ones, friends and colleagues, constantly maintain a fairly high concentration of strong alcohol in the mouth and nasopharynus in order to destroy all malicious viruses and bacteria.

I hope this will allow us to go through a difficult festive period without a splash of infection and unacceptable losses, especially since statistics are in dexterous and tested hands.

But not by the coronavirus of our community one. Some colleagues manage to be interested in this harsh season by abstract issues, ask, for example, how I relate to the arrests of various science figures recently. Recently, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Shcherbatyuk was arrested in the Far East, who was going to supply small underwater devices to the Chinese. A little later, an anatoly Gubanov officer was detained on charges of treason. In both cases, colleagues were surprised and outraged by what was happening. My acquaintance asked everything how, in such conditions, to engage in innovative developments, how to increase high -tech exports?

What can I say to this ... My recipe is the easiest: in no case do not get involved with innovations, and even more so with all sorts of closed developments! Of course, there is no task more important and more honorable than to forge the shield and sword of the Motherland. But only hard and trained people should do such an important business. Narrowed in closed license plates, with mother’s milk, who absorbed the rules of behavior for citizens who have access to secret information, 100% impregnated with patriotism people with a cold mind, hot heart, clean hands, with tired, but so kind eyes. People are proven and admitted.

Or look at the civilian innovation. Anatoly Borisovich Chubais is a man of exceptional talents, he can afford to demonstrate a bending tablet without any consequences to the national leader. But the other for much smaller tricks will be bent so that it will not bend for several years. Remember last year's business with glasses in Fian? The employee who was engaged in spraying is still, they say, he is sitting in Israel. Yes, it’s not necessary to even sell something somewhere, it is enough for someone to gather something at some conference or just exchange messages by e-mail with some foreigner, like that Roskosmosov journalist. And-ku-ku!

Therefore, I concluded for myself: people from steel, titanium and nanocomposites, who will never tell anyone and always knock the first, should be engaged in such responsible matters. Let them receive bonuses, orders and stars for shoulder straps, I will be proud of them with all my heart. And I myself am engaged and will deal with issues of exclusively academic significance, without getting involved in almost significant work. I will not have a lot of money from the state defense order or megalots, there will be only small grants, but it does not matter! You go quieter, as they say, you will be further. The main thing is that no one will knock on your door at six in the morning.

But back to the New Year's theme. I want to wish you all, dear colleagues, primarily health! Take care of yourself and others! And then I want to say this: the outgoing year showed that we need very little for happiness. So that we and our loved ones are healthy, so that you can go out without a pass, so that you can go on vacation, where you wish - to the country or to Turkey. Yes, finally, how precious is the opportunity to simply feel tastes and smells freely! And we need to save this knowledge - be content with small and be happy! For our country, this is very important knowledge. Happy New Year of you!
