A resident of Severodvinsk was fined for recording video messages to the governor and president

The Severodvinsk City Court of the Arkhangelsk Region imposed two fines of ten thousand rubles each on a local resident, Sergei Ilyukhin, who participated in recording joint video messages to the governor and the president. This is reported by the publication "7 × 7" from the words of Ilyukhin himself.

Both times, the man was found guilty under the article on organizing a mass stay of citizens in public places, which caused a violation of public order or sanitary standards (part 1 of article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The trials took place on 23 and 25 December.

“Everything was fast. I learned about the trial a day before it. I was acquainted with the materials of the case immediately before the meeting. Judge Popova denied all my motions to allow me to prepare a defense and subpoena my witnesses. She stated that three police witnesses were sufficient for an objective examination of the case. All my arguments that the wasteland where the shooting was carried out is not a public place were not accepted. This allowed me to be charged with violating the mask regime, although before that we were all sure that it was not yet forbidden to be on the street without a mask. It is also strange that the court considered the recording of the video message to be a mass event, because according to the decree of our governor, it is considered mass if more than 50 people participate in it, and there were fewer of us, ”7x7 reports Ilyukhin’s words.

The video messages in question were recorded by residents of Severodvinsk in mid-December. They appealed to the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Alexander Tsybulsky and to Vladimir Putin's direct line with a request to cancel the development of a wasteland in the city center. In one video, Ilyukhin simply stands among the rest of the citizens, and in the second, he reads an appeal from a piece of paper.

Sergei Ilyukhin believes that in this way local authorities and law enforcement agencies put pressure on him and other protesting citizens. He plans to file an appeal against the court's decision.

• In Severodvinsk, on the site of the Central Park, which is not yet equipped for walking, the authorities are going to build several multi-storey buildings. Local residents protest against such a decision and demand the renovation of the park.
