Doping history athletes may prohibit state posts

The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation will counteract that athletes who previously violated the anti -doping rules receive public positions or start a coaching career. This was announced on the air of the TV channel "Match TV" by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin.

“We are all measures to counteract the development of events when a person had anti -doping violations and at the end of his career receives a state position or begins coaching. Such work is carried out, I think that it is necessary to consolidate administratively, regulate in the provision of work in relation to persons who were convicted of certain violations,” TASS Matycin quoted.

“We work both legislatively, administratively, and with the leaders of the subjects, ministries in the regions in order to prevent this,” the minister added.

As an example of such work, the minister brought the resignation of Dmitry Shlyakhtin from the post of president of the All -Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA). According to Matytsin, he left the post of head of the WFLA "after long negotiations" and should serve as an "indicative example for many."

It should be noted that at least two former athletes with doping history are currently deputies of the State Duma from the United Russia party - fighter Arthur Taymazov and Bobsleist Alexei Voevoda .

The disqualification for violation of anti -doping rules involves a complete ban on any activity in professional sports, but these restrictions apply only to the sentence. In addition, even during disqualification, it is not forbidden to work in amateur sports structures.
