The court upheld the arrest of the defendants in the third Bakhchisarai case of Hizb ut-Tahrir

The Military Court of Appeal, located in Vlasikha, Moscow Region, rejected the appeal to extend the arrest of the defendants in the third Bakhchisaray case of Hizb ut-Tahrir. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

The measure of restraint for Seytumer Seytumerov, Osman Seytumerov and Rustem Seytmemetov, who are now being held in the Rostov pre-trial detention center, was left the same - arrest until April 22, 2021. In November, the decision to extend the detention was made by the Southern District Military Court in the Rostov Region, and then they were transferred from the Crimean pre-trial detention center to the Rostov-on-Don pre-trial detention center.

The lawyers participated in the court session via videoconferencing through the Crimean Garrison Military Court. The defense asked to choose other preventive measures, referring to the chronic diseases of the accused, as well as the fact that they are political prisoners and are persecuted on religious grounds. But the court did not satisfy the appeal of the lawyers.

• Seitumer Seytumerov, Osman Seytumerov and Rustem Seitmemetov were detained after searches in Crimea on March 11. Later they were placed in custody , Amet Suleymanov, who was detained along with them in the same case, was placed under house arrest. The investigation considers all four of them to be participants in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), the namesake and namesake of one of them, Seitumer Seytumerov, who is on the wanted list, is the organizer (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
• The Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir has been recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In various regions of Russia, as well as in the Crimea, alleged members of the party are being prosecuted for the activities of a terrorist organization. The accused are sentenced to various lengthy terms solely on the grounds that they held meetings and read religious literature. On the territory of Ukraine, the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir are allowed.
