The KGB of Belarus discussed the murder of Pavel Sheremet. This follows from the record published by Euobserver - but its authenticity needs to confirm

The euoobserver publication published a recording of a 2012 conversation, at which the then head of the KGB of Belarus, Vadim Zaitsev, discusses the attempts with the fighters of the Alpha special for several people, including the journalist Pavel Sheremet . The record dates from April 11, 2012.

A voice, supposedly belonging to Zaitsev, calls Sheremet “a huge splinter in the ass” and offers “work on it”. Zaitsev proposes to "make a bookmark" so that "it would be impossible to assemble either the arms or legs of this rat." In his opinion, such death will become a signal for other people critical of Belarusian power.

The voice also says that by personal order of President Alexander Lukashenko, more than one and a half million dollars were transferred to the special account for political murder operations. The conversation also discusses plans for the killing of several Belarusian political emigrants-a former employee of the corruption department of Vyacheslav Dudkin, the former head of the Minsk pre-trial detention center No. 1 of Oleg Alkayev and the former commander of the 5th separate special forces Vladimir Borodach (they are all alive now).

The publication emphasizes that the record that came to his disposal is very poor in quality, and notes that because of this, experts have not yet been able to confirm its authenticity. It was edited at least once - presumably, to remove data that would allow the person who made her. NATO experts, familiar with Zaitsev, said that a person’s voice on his recording was like his voice.

The recording of the publication was handed over by the Belarusian Dissant, the former deputy commander of the combat group of the anti -terrorist unit of the Almaz Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Makar ( crossed to the side of the opposition in 2006). He stated that he was ready to confirm her authenticity in court.

Zaitsev was removed from the post of head of the KGB of Belarus at the end of 2012. Since 2013, he has been working as the head of the Cosmos TV provider.

In the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who is investigating the murder of Sheremet, commenting on the record, said "new information can help in the search for so unidentified customers and the organizers of the murder."
