The former head of the colony of special regime for life-sentenced “White Swan” (IK-2 GUFSIN in the Perm Territory) Ashot Sargsyan died in Perm on January 3. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Perm Territory.
According to preliminary information, he committed suicide after the collision of his Toyota Land Cruiser car with the Ford Focus car. Eyewitnesses of the accident report on social networks that they heard characteristic sounds a few minutes after the accident.
“After the accident, the driver of the SUV <med for suicide> and died at the scene. <...> As a result of an accident, an passenger of the passenger carrier received an outpatient treatment, - outpatient treatment was prescribed, - they told the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Perm Territory. “On the fact of the incident, a check is carried out, all the circumstances of the incident are established.”

The 69-year-old Ashot Sargsyan worked in the system of execution of sentences since the 1970s, the White Swan in the city of Solikamsk of the Perm Territory headed from 2002 to 2010.
In 2019, the son of Ashot Sargsyan Edgar Sargsyan, the former deputy head of the department of the IC of the Russian Federation in the Perm district and the ex-Mayor of Justice, was sentenced to seven years of colony for attempted mediation in bribery.
