
A storm warning has been announced in the Leningrad region. The wind will intensify to 15-17 m/s, reports the Ministry of Emergencies in the region.
According to the weather forecaster of the Fobos Center Mikhail Leus, the western part of the Leningrad region will be influenced by the front of the Atlantic cyclone, and the eastern part of the crest of frosty Arctic anticyclone. Because of this, the weather will be cloudy, light snow is expected.
The Ministry of Emergencies recommend going around trees, advertising shields, shaky buildings and houses with an unstable roof and remind you that it is dangerous to be in such weather in the forest and ice.
Frosts came to St. Petersburg at the end of the New Year holidays - on January 10, the temperature dropped to –13 degrees. The townspeople rejoiced in the cold and walked on the ice, they were accelerated by employees of the Ministry of Emergencies. In several areas, pipes broke through, people were left without heating.
