Tour operators of St. Petersburg accepted only 10-15 % of last year’s tourists on New Year's holidays. Up to 90 % of customers were canceled by tours after restrictions introduced by the authorities, Interfax writes with reference to the press service of the Turin industry.

The union noted that the trips were not canceled by those tourists who did not want to pay fines for the return of air tickets. At the same time, vacationers were satisfied with the trip: it was not very cold, some popular places for walking remained open in the city - for example, the territory of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

“As tour operators say, such a nervous New Year and Christmas has not yet happened, and tourists came ten times less than usual. Even expectations from sales of tours with cashback were not justified - little was booking. People really wanted to change the situation on vacation. But, when in early December the city authorities announced the restrictions, almost all tours were canceled. ”

In early December, the authorities of St. Petersburg asked tourists not to come to the city for the New Year holidays, and then introduced new restrictions. Since January 11, part of them was removed in the city: museums and zoo were earned, visitors began to be launched at exhibitions and concerts.
