Roskomnadzor, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, added the domain of the Dropmail service to the register of prohibited sites, which allows you to anonymously create a temporary email. Roskomsvoboda drew attention to this.
The authors of the service indicated on the main page that they were blocked without warning, and created a mirror of the Russian-language version of the project.
The description of the service says that it is needed for anonymous registration on sites that require email binding. It was impossible to send letters from such addresses, the creator noted after blocking.
In January 2020, the FSB and Roskomnadzor reported blocking the email services Startmail.com andProtonmail , from which, according to the intelligence service, anonymous letters were sent about mining Russian institutions. During the year, several more secure mail and temporary mail services were also blocked, including Tempr.email .
