The creator of the “Police Ombudsman” project had his arrest in a pre-trial detention center extended for three months

The Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow extended the arrest in the pre-trial detention center of the founder of the Police Ombudsman project, Vladimir Vorontsov, for three months. TASS reports this.

Vorontsov's defense asked to appoint a preventive measure not related to deprivation of liberty. At the meeting, the indictment in the Ombudsman case was read out. Vorontsov did not admit guilt to any of the episodes charged to him.

Vorontsov’s defenders reported fourteen episodes of persecution: two cases under Article 163 of the Criminal Code (“Extortion”), three more under Article 242 of the Criminal Code (“Illegal production and circulation of pornographic materials”), one case under Part 2 of Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code (“Slander”), for which the statute of limitations has already expired, and eight more cases under Art. 319 of the Criminal Code (“Insulting government officials”).

• On May 7,they came to Vorontsov’s apartment with a search, and the security forces entered the apartment through a window, descending from the roof on ropes. The next day, the court sent the “police ombudsman” to a pre-trial detention center under charges of extortion.
• “Police Ombudsman” was originally a group on VKontakte , created by Vladimir Vorontsov when he worked in the police and Center “E”, then pages appeared on other social networks. The group highlights violations of the rights of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and criticizes the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
