Rosstat included in the basket of calculation of inflation of masks and covid medicines
Rosstat expanded the basket of goods and services for calculating monthly inflation this year, increasing it by 36 positions. The list included, in particular, sanitary-hygienic masks, hand antiseptic, covid-19 medicines, MRI services, car sharing, hygiene products, excursion tours in Russia (for 1-2 nights), living in luxury hotels. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the statistical department.
“In 2021, Rosstat will monthly monitor prices for 556 goods and services. This is the first major update of the list in recent years, ”Rosstat said.
The new list includes sanitary-hygienic masks, hand antiseptic, disposable syringes, medical procedures (gastroscopy, diagnosis on MRI or CT), as well as services for care for patients and elderly people at home. The list of goods for hygiene, in particular, is supplemented by shower gel, liquid toilet soap, deodorant, paper tablespoons and handkerchiefs.
The list of food positions included in the calculation of inflation is expanded due to fresh greenery, fresh mushrooms, frozen berries, drinking cream. In addition, in a monthly assessment of the consumer price index included subscriptions on online and video services. A list of foreign countries (at the expense of Turkey and the UAE) was also replenished, a vacation trip to which is included in the calculation of inflation.
Rosstat included detailed data on hotel prices in the calculation of inflation, including five -star. If earlier only one indicator was monitored and included in the calculation of inflation-the day of living in the hotel (and a 2-or 3-star hotel was taken), now five categories of hotels are allocated for which the dynamics of prices are monitored-hostels, one-star, two-star, three-star and four-five-five hotels.
At the same time, some products that have ceased to be in demand among consumers, such as fur hats, button mobile phones and carpets, are excluded from the list for calculating inflation.
