Andrei Illarionov was fired from the Cato Institute after the post of capture of the Capitol

Former Russian presidential adviser Andrei Illarionov no longer works at the American Institute of Cato. He wrote about this in his living magazine.

“As the vice-president of the institute told me, the reason is the content of postscriptes annexed to my post in this blog“ The Defices of the Reichstag ”-2021,” he wrote. We are talking about a post about riots in the Capitol.

When Illarionov was settled down, the leadership in response to one or another question stated that the protection of individual freedom is the main position of the institute, he said. “The institute has no other position, except for the protection of individual freedom. On any issues there is not the position of the institute, there are different positions of the institute’s employees, whose expression they have every right, ”Illarionov quoted the response of the heads of the institute, noting that“ now this approach has changed ”.

At the Institute of Cato RBC confirmed the dismissal of Illarionov. “Andrei Illarionov no longer works at the Cato Institute. We will not have any further comments on his departure, but we want to recognize his long-standing criticism of Putin’s regime and his protection of freedom in Russia and around the world, ”Katoin Brooks, vice-president of communications, told the publication.

The site of the Cato Institute itself says that Illarionov is a former senior researcher at the Center for Global Freedom and Prosperity.
