The Ministry of Industry and Trade supported the idea to allow selling alcohol online. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the corresponding letter of the department.

In the response to the appeal of the first deputy head of the Public Chamber of the Leningrad Region Vladimir Petrov, who proposed allowing to trade alcohol online during the New Year holidays notes that despite the restrictions, demand exists and it is satisfied by the illegal market.

Now the government is considering the bill on the cancellation of the ban on online trade alcohol, it was introduced by the Ministry of Finance.
