At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Roskomnadzor introduced a dropmail postal service to the register of prohibited sites, which allows you to create a temporary mailbox for anonymous registration on various services. This was paid attention to in Roskomvobod .

It is clarified that the service was blocked as part of the fight against sending letters about false minilations of various objects in Russia. At the same time, the Dropmail manager wrote that he did not receive notifications about the lock and specified that the service allows only to accept letters, but not to send them out. He added that he could not appeal the decision to block in court, as he was outside Russia, but said that he sent a letter with his position to Roskomnadzor.

As a temporary solution that allows you to maintain the availability of dropmail, the service owner created a mirror for the Russian-speaking version and added another IP address.

If the security forces are tired of responding to anonymous letters/messages, then you just need to stop responding to them. A single blocking of postal services will not solve the problem of anonymum from any point of view. This is far from the first postal service that has fallen under the blocking in Russia as part of the fight against false mining. So, earlier the Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that Protonmail, Cock.li, Tutanota, Cryptoheaven and Salusfe, Anomimousspeech, Vistoomer, TemPr.mail and Telegram-Bota ETLGR be blocked.
