The Moscow City Court dismissed the case against a participant in the picket in support of Shies

The Moscow City Court dismissed an administrative case under the article on violation of the rules for participation in a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against Timofey Filin, a participant in a solo picket in Moscow on November 28, 2019 and a supporter of the Other Russia E. V. Limonov party . This is reported by the "Apology of Protest" with reference to the lawyer Mansur Gilmanov.

Filin was detained on November 28 at Pushkinskaya Square during a picket in support of Shies. Filin and several other picketers unfurled a banner reading "Unite".

On March 3, 2020, the Tverskoy District Court fined Filin 10,000 rubles.

The Moscow City Court considered the appeal against the decision of the district court and dismissed the case against Filin.

  • The defenders of the Shies station in the Arkhangelsk region earlier announced the start of an indefinite protest on Pushkin Square. Eco-activists intended to stand every day at the monument to Pushkin from 9:00 to 21:00 and tell passers-by about what is happening in the region in connection with the construction of a landfill in Shies.

  • Acting Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsibulsky in April 2020 spoke out against the construction of a landfill in Shies. In January, the Arkhangelsk Region Arbitration Court decided to recognize it as an unauthorized construction and oblige Technopark LLC (an investor in the construction of the landfill) to demolish part of the erected buildings in the area of ​​the Shies railway station.
