In Izhevsk, administrative cases were opened against two participants in single pickets

The police in Izhevsk drew up reports on violation of the rules of participation in the action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) against Maria Poroshina and Veronika Shugaeva, participants in single pickets on the Day of the Fight against Violence against Women and activists of the Russian Socialist Movement (RSM). This was reported by the publication “Idel.Realii”.

The reason for initiating administrative cases was the pickets that took place on November 25 in the central square of Izhevsk. Single pickets, as the publication writes, were devoted to the topic of domestic, sexual and reproductive violence.

“When I was standing with a poster, the police approached me. I showed them my passport, as expected. One of them started asking what my address was, whether I lived at my registration address, and my phone number. I said that I would not give this information, since it is not mandatory, to which the policewoman told me that if I did not give my phone number, I would be wanted,” Idel.Realii reported Maria Poroshina’s comment .

According to a participant in the action, unknown provocateurs tried to interfere with the event holding a poster “What did you do to avoid being beaten?” The participants of the event went to another place so that they would not be charged with holding a mass event, but the provocateurs followed them. The police, according to Poroshina, did not pay attention to their actions.

Court hearings, according to the publication, will take place on January 15.

• Another RSD activist, Dmitry Morozov, is also under pressure: he is being investigated under the article on inciting hatred or enmity (Article 282 of the Criminal Code) in the wake of actions against deforestation. In November, policecame to the home of Morozov and his relatives because of the same actions.
• In May 2020, the Investigative Committee conducted an investigation against Morozov under the article on justification of terrorism in connection with statements in support of those involved in the “Network” case , but they did not initiate a criminal case due to the lack of corpus delicti. In May, security forces also interrogated Morozov as a witness in the case of arson at the United Russia office.
