Pfizer will reduce supplies of coronavirus vaccine to Europe

European countries, including the UK, will receive fewer coronavirus vaccines from Pfizer than expected starting next week. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT).

This is due to the company's plans to increase production capacity in order to release two billion doses in 2021, and not 1.3 billion, as planned.

In particular, Norway next week will receive 18% fewer doses than expected (36 thousand instead of the expected 43.9 thousand), writes FT.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health said the country, like several other European countries, has stockpiled the vaccine in case there are supply problems.

• Norway on January 14 reported that 23 people had died in the country after being vaccinated. The Norwegian Medicines Agency is investigating whether the death was due to the vaccine or just coincidentally.
