Rocketbank announced its final closure

The Rocketbank service announced on the evening of January 18 on Instagram that it had finally closed.

It all started in 2013 with the idea of ​​making a bank with a human face. <…> There were ups and downs. And then ups again. And falls ... And again ups! Well, you get the idea. <…> And now, we are closing. Now finally. Thank you for supporting, believing, inspiring and staying with us until the very end.

Qiwi, which owns Rocketbank, told TJ that 43,000 customer accounts remained active at the time of closing. Their service will be terminated by April 1, after which the accounts will be transferred to the balance of QIWI Bank.

• The Rocketbank service was founded in 2013 by entrepreneurs Viktor Lysenko, Oleg Kozyrev, Alexey Kolesnikov and Mikhail Provision. At first, the service worked on the infrastructure of Interkommerts Bank, and then on Otkritie Bank. In 2017, Rocketbank, together with the Tochka service for entrepreneurs, was bought by Qiwi for 700 million rubles. In March 2019, three co-founders left the company (Lysenko stepped down from the management of Rocketbank back in 2016). In March 2020, Qiwi announced that it would close the service due to its unprofitability.
