In Moscow, Khimki and St. Petersburg, the police on Monday delay the supporters of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who spontaneously went out into the streets, protesting against the arrest of a politician. In St. Petersburg, several hundred oppositionists gathered on January 18 at the Gostiny Dvor. 55 detainees are reported. Dozens of auto -zaks and hundreds of police and riot police pulled to the place of action of the city’s action. Several people were detained only because they raised their hands up.

Among the detainees was the journalist of Rain Denis Kabakov. Those who ended up with him in Avtosak were kept at least an hour in a car standing on the spot. At the same time, the police refused to take people to the toilet and said with mockery: "Navalny will help you."

The meeting was not informed either by the opposition or his lawyers in advance, the Radio "Freedom" notes. The police department of Alexei Navalny was taken on Sunday evening right from Sheremetyevo Airport, where he flew from Germany. There, the opposition was undergoing rehabilitation after the poisoning of the Novice family.

After the start of the court, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Moscow Region said that the reason for its implementation was the absence of a Naval results of the test for coronavirus infection. According to the current rules, those who arrive from abroad have 72 hours to pass this test.

Dozens of countries demanded the immediate liberation of Alexei Navalny. The policy headquarters announced large -scale protests throughout Russia, which are scheduled for February 23.

Navalny himself, who returned to his homeland, despite the mortal danger threatening him, called on the fellow citizens not to be afraid and go out onto the streets. "What is this toad, sitting on the pipe. What are these bunker thieves most of all: you yourself know very well - people go out into the streets. <...> 20 years in a row, we are becoming poorer, our country will degrade, the education is getting worse, our health care is more wretched. This will not stop, except for ourselves," the politician in the video recorded in the walls of the police station said arrest.
