Alexei Navalny was arrested for 30 days

The Khimkinsky City Court "Arrested Alexei Navalny on the road until February 15, the press secretary of the politician Kira Yarmysh said .

The decision was made by the judge of the Khimkinsky city court Elena Morozova. The politician will remain under arrest before considering the question of replacing him with a punishment in the case of "Yves Rocher".

Navalny called what was happening "the highest degree of lawlessness." His lawyer Vadim Kobzev said that the decision to arrest would be appealed.

The court took place right in the building of the 2nd branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the City District of Khimki, where the politician has been on the night on January 18 after the detention at Sheremetyevo Airport. “I have never heard of this in legal practice,” commented the director of the FBK Ivan Zhdanov. Navalny’s lawyer Olga Mikhailova informed TASS that the FSIN was asking the court to arrest the opposition before considering the question of replacing him with the conditional in the real in the case of "Yves Rocher".

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that Navalny does not have the result of the Covid test, and that is why the meeting to choose a preventive measure is held in the department in Khimki. At the same time, journalists and relatives were not allowed for a meeting "for reasons of sanitary security."

Later, on Monday, the Simonovsky court of Moscow, at the initiative of the capital's department, the FSIN postponed for February the consideration of the application for the abolition of conditional punishment Alexei Navalny. The court session was to be held on January 29, but postponed to February 2 at 10:00, the oppositionist’s lawyer Olga Mikhailova said.

The press secretary of the politician Kira Yarmysh, citing his lawyers, said in the evening that Navalny was sent to the "sailor silence" to the insulator.

After the detention at arrival in Russia from Germany, the location of Navalny remained unknown about four hours. Lawyers and members of the Public Supervisory Commission were not allowed to politics. In the morning, they were still able to get into the building of the Khimkinsky ATS itself, but not to Navalny. The defense of Navalny learned about the court’s meeting in the police department shortly before it began.

During the meeting, Navalny urged the judge to announce a break to invite his defenders and relatives. “It is secret even for me - coming here, I found that there was a court session,” the opposition said. The judge in response demanded to comply with the regulations, saying that part of the meeting at which petitions are made was not yet. Navalny noted to this that the regulations of the court session are not respected in principle, since it should take place in the premises of the Khimkinsky court, and no one called the foundation on which the meeting was taken away.

According to Life Shot , the crew of which was missed into the police department through the rear entrance, the defense of Navalny demanded the discharge of the judge. She rejected the challenge, calling him "far -fetched and unreasonable." However, after that she provided lawyers for 30 minutes to get acquainted with the case file and 20 minutes to communicate with the client.

On January 17, employees of the investigation department of the operational department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow detained Navalny at Sheremetyevo Airport at border control on the basis of a resolution of the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of December 29, 2020, according to which the politician was put on a federal wanted list for “systematic violations of the conditions of the test deadline“ in the IV Roche case ”.

The FSIN said that the preventive measure of Navalny will be determined by the court appointed on January 29, and before that he would be in custody. At the same time, according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, a citizen of the Russian Federation cannot be detained for more than 48 hours without a court decision, and the Federal Penitentiary Service did not have the authority to detain Navalny, the FBK noted.
