The United States imposed sanctions against the ship building Nord Stream 2

The United States has imposed sanctions against the Fortuna vessel, which is laying the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea. This was reported on the website of the US Department of the Treasury.

In addition, sanctions were imposed against the owner of the vessel “KVT-Rus” and the company “Rustanker”.

In December 2020, a year after being stopped due to US sanctions, construction of the gas pipelineresumed .

Nord Stream 2 was planned to be laid along the Nord Stream gas pipeline running along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. In this section they have 2.6 kilometers of gas pipeline left to lay. Another 147 kilometers remain unfinished at great depths in Danish waters, noted S&P Platts .
