In Izhevsk, bailiffs detained a listener who came to the trial of a picket participant

In Izhevsk, bailiffs detained Natalya Skryabina, who came to the Oktyabrsky District Court as a listener at a hearing on the case of Maria Poroshina, a participant in a solitary picket against violence against women. The detainee herself told about this to OVD-Info.

Scriabin and several other listeners tried to get into the court, but the bailiffs refused to let them through the checkpoint, citing restrictions imposed in connection with the pandemic. Scriabina called the leadership of the court to find out the reasons for the non-admission of listeners. While the listener was talking on the phone, the bailiff detained her.

The detainee was taken to one of the premises of the court and a protocol is drawn up against her under the article on failure to comply with the legal requirements of the bailiff (part 2 of article 17.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). According to Scriabina, she did not hear the bailiffs make any demands on her.

14:45 Scriabin was released: the bailiffs held her for more than three hours while the protocol was being drawn up. The detainee herself told about this to OVD-Info.

The listener noted that the bailiffs released her after the lawyer intervened.

• Against the activists of the Russian Socialist Movement (RSM) Maria Poroshina and Veronika Shugaeva, were opened administrative cases under the article on violation of the rules for participation in the action (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for this was the single pickets that the activists held on November 25, 2020. The pickets were devoted to domestic, sexual and reproductive violence.
