Viktor Reznikov - physical education teacher without musical education - wrote dozens of songs for Soviet pop stars. He became popular after one of his compositions was performed by Alla Pugacheva. Reznikov also collaborated with the valley, Leontyev and Boyarsky.
At that time, the unknown composer met with Pugacheva at that time by accident, because of a draw of friends. And Boyarsky was simply waiting in the theater before the performance. At the age of 39, Reznikov died in an accident, shortly before that, writing one of his most popular songs “ Thank you, dear ”.
"Paper" tells the story of the St. Petersburg composer.
Composer Viktor Reznikov was born in Leningrad in 1952. From childhood, he was interested in music, but never received a specialized education. After school, Victor entered the shipbuilding institute, but decided that he did not want to be an engineer - and learned to learn physical education.
Victor began to compose songs around the mid-1970s, when he studied at the Herzen Pedagogical Institute. Fame came to Reznikov after his song “ Flight, cloud ” was performed by Alla Pugacheva. The composer said that he met the singer by chance-because of the joke.
In 1978, Pugacheva, already being a star, came on tour in Leningrad. Friends told Reznikov that the singer was delighted with the work of the young musician and was waiting for him at the European Hotel.
Victor made his way to the Pugacheva number, named his last name - and the singer let him in. As Reznikov himself recalled , the singer probably confused him with the famous poet Ilya Reznik. However, she still liked the songs of the young composer.
Pugacheva performed several works by Viktor Reznikov - “Soldier”, “Paper Snake”, “Telephone Book”, “Recognition” and “Sign”. As the singer said , it was fun and difficult to work with the composer at the same time: "Our work begins with the fact that he teaches me to sing."

The composer collaborated with other Soviet and Russian artists - Valery Leontyev, Laima Vaikule, Anna Shirochenko and Larisa Dolina.
The Valley performed more than 20 songs of Reznikov and has repeatedly noted that she was reverent about his work. For example, recently she criticized the cover version of the song “I can’t dance”, which was performed by Alexander Revva. According to the singer, "you cannot change the harmony that was invented."
Mikhail Boyarsky said that he met Viktor Reznikov at the passing theater. The composer wanted to show him his music and was waiting for the artist before the performances for several evenings.
“When he played the first beats of his songs, I forgot that I have a performance. After that, I asked all my life, not him, ” said the singer. Boyarsky performed such songs of Reznikov as “My Courtyard”, “Card of the House” and “I will forget about you”.
Boyarsky and Reznikov made friends and even performed on stage with their sons - Sergey and Andrei. The quartet became known thanks to the songs of "Dinosaurians", "Night, away!" and "brownie."
Thanks to the song of the "brownie" Reznikov, it was recognized in the West. He participated in the recording of the Soviet-American album Music Speaks Louder than Words, and the music from this song formed the basis of the new tracks of the Don't Stop Now group The Cover Girls . This song fell into the Billboard chart.
Reznikov’s last song was “ thank you, dear ”, which he dedicated to his wife Lyudmila and the children. On the day when Victor was an accident, he, along with Boyarsky, had to perform this song at the studio.
- [That day] I call him and ask: "Vitka, where are you?" He says he is going. But he did not come. I call and find out that he had an accident. I rushed to the hospital, the doctors said that everything was fine <...>. And then it turned out that he had a blood clot and he died. I was so confused. I saw him - but then he was gone.
In 1992, the death of Viktor Reznikov on television was announced by Boyarsky. “Today, when there is so much vulgarity, dirt, uncleanness, musical heresy, which flooded the ether, his music was like a sip of clean air, like a clean spring,” the musician said.
Many listeners agree with this: in the comments under the songs of the composer they write about the kindness and sincerity of his texts, and in VKontakte there is a group of “ Club of admirers of the talent of Viktor Reznikov ” with 2 thousand subscribers.
The composer talks about almost 29 years after his death: recently, a program on “Russia 1” was published in memory of him, and “ Longpley ” about Reznikov told about Russian songs popular in the West on the Utyub-channel.
