"Sber" bought a robot Spot (video)

Sber (formerly Sberbank) bought a Spot robot developed by Boston Dynamics to study the behavior of robots in a natural environment. This was told by RIA "Novosti" in the press service of Sber.

"We were the first in Russia to show the robotechnical platform created by the BD. It was acquired for educational and research purposes. And will be used for research in the field of robots behavior in various examples of the natural environment and solving joint problems of the robot and humans," the report said.

Judging by the small video, the “life” of the Spot Robot in Russia began with a walk at the Sberbank Corporate University and acquaintance with the robot assistant created by the Sberbank engineers.

Recall, the robot originally called Spotmini was represented in July 2016. It was created on the basis of the previous SPOT model and was distinguished by more compact dimensions: its weight was only 25 kilograms, and the battery life was about an hour and a half. A distinctive feature of the first Spotmini was a folding manipulator-“neck”, which gave the robot a resemblance to the dinosaur. With it, Spotmini could perform various operations.

In the fall of 2017, Boston Dynamics showed the updated version of the robot: it has become even more compact and received decorative protective panels. In October 2018, Boston Dynamics taught the robot to dance. In 2019, Boston Dymamics began limited SPOT sales: robots were given only to short -term leasing under the Early Adaptation program. Last year, Boston Dynamics officially launched a Spot robot on the market. It can be purchased by companies from different countries for $ 74.5 thousand.

Spot can move almost wherever a person. The company is offered to use it, among other things, for monitoring and collecting data for compiling three -dimensional cards.

In December last year, the South Korean company Hyundai announced the purchase of Boston Dynamics from the Japanese holding SoftBank.
