The Oktyabrsky District Court of the Primorsky Territory sentenced the former specialist in social work to two and a half years, finding him guilty of the theft of money from incapable patients of a neuropsychiatric boarding school. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office.
According to the court, the convicted person worked in the Pokrovsky Psychoneurological boarding school. In the period from January to July 2020, he in collusion with his colleague opened bank accounts for 17 incompetent patients. Patients signed a power of attorney that boarding school employees can use money on the account. Social workers transferred the funds of guests of the boarding school to debit cards, and then cashed.
In total, the employees of the institution stole 4.5 million rubles, two of which the convict returned during a preliminary investigation. The criminal case against the second employee of the boarding school was allocated into separate proceedings.
