In Moscow, the prototype of a flying taxi began testing (photo)

The Russian company Hoversurf began flight tests of a prototype of unmanned aerotaxi in Moscow. This was reported by the Moscow Agency with reference to the press service of the Department of Entrepreneurship and the Innovative Development of Moscow.

"In the premises of the small sports arena of the Luzhniki Olympic complex, the drone-taxi tests are undergoing a drone. A drip capable of delivering passengers and cargo by air at a distance of up to 100 km, the Moscow innovative cluster is developed. The dimensions of the aircraft (5 m by 1.6 m) are comparable to a height of the car. To a standard parking place, maneuvering in the parking lot, to go to the garage and go out of it on the street.

As N+1 notes, now the prototype has a simplified design with a frame, an uncomfortable chassis and two chairs for passengers. The prototype uses a diagram with separate screws for a horizontal and vertical flight. Four large screws are responsible for vertical traction - two in front and behind. Pushing traction, providing a flight forward or backward, give two duct fans. Signal lights are installed between them.

During the first tests of aerotaxi, take -off and landing, as well as horizontal maneuvers, worked out. Part of the tests was carried out with people on board. Also, the developers of the drone test the emergency parachute, which provides a soft planting of aerotaxi in case of engine failure.

Recall that earlier Hoversurf was developing flying motorcycles (hoverbikes). The company introduced the first prototype of its Hoverbike in 2016, and soon showed a serial version. In 2018, the company began the supply of Hoverbikes of the Dubai police. Last year, Hoversurf Hoverbike crashed during tests.
