A protest participant, an opposition journalist and a priest were detained in Khabarovsk

In Khabarovsk, at about 5 p.m. local time, protest participant Evgeny Mazikin was detained. This was reported to the legal bot OVD-Info.

During his arrest, Mazikin was threatened with criminal charges, Khabarovsk residents added. He was taken to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Timiryazev Street. After that, Mazikeen stopped communicating.

Zhirnov is taken to a special detention center. The journalist went on a hunger strike.

The news headline changed after reports of subsequent arrests

• In November 2020, Evgeniy Mazikin was attacked by unknown persons who introduced themselves as police officers. Threatening them with weapons, they tried to search him and take away his passport and phone, but Mazikeen refused because he was afraid of planting drugs. The attackers were scared off by a local watchman.
• At the end of August 2020, Mazikeen was fined for violating traffic rules, and his companion was detained for participating in a protest. Later, Mazikinwas detained and taken to draw up a report for his participation in the action.
• Since July 11, 2020, in the Khabarovsk Territory and other regions of the country, rallies have been held in support of the arrested ex-governor Sergei Furgal. Until approximately July 18, the Khabarovsk police made almost no attempt to interfere with the protesters, but later law enforcement officers began to detain the protesters. In the overwhelming majority of cases, they were detained after the protests, including on other days, right at home or at work, after which they were taken to police departments and courts, where they were fined or arrested.
