On Saturday, January 23, in Israel, shares of solidarity with one of the leaders of the Russian opposition Alexei Navalny took place.

In Tel Aviv, about 1,500 people gathered, according to approximate estimates, at the address of the A-Yarkkon street in Tel Aviv, which took place several hundred meters from the Russian Embassy in Tel Aviv. This action has become the most massive among similar demonstrations of solidarity conducted by immigrants from the countries of the former USSR, reports Newsru Israel .

At the same time, initially the organizers of the action, coordinating its holding, reported that only about 150 participants would gather on it. Police officers present at the rally said that the organizers are facing fines for violation of quarantine restrictions. After that, the organizers began to ask the audience to disperse.

Most of the rally participants made up new repatriates, families with children and youth. The audience chanted: "Freedom to Navalny!", "Putin is a thief!" Among the slogans were posters written in English and Hebrew. The rally was attended by activists of the Belarusian ° izraili community and other representatives of the Belarusian community.

Among the participants in the rally were both old -timers and repatriates who came to Israel in recent years. They all explained that they came to a rally of solidarity with their loved ones who remained in Russia, and also because they feel obligated to speak out about the lawlessness that is happening in their former homeland.

After the rally ended, several hundred participants moved to the building of the Russian Embassy. The police asked them to disperse, recalling that we were not talking about a permitted rally, but there were no detentions or fines.

At least 600 people came to Haifa for a rally of solidarity.
