Four participants in mass protests in Moscow, who took place on Saturday, January 23, became defendants in criminal cases on the use of violence against a representative of the authorities. In relation to them, cases have been instituted under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports with reference to an informed source.

Three more participants in the shares became defendants in criminal cases stipulated by the violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules (Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), hooliganism (Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and intentional damage to property (Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to investigators, "aggressively tuned citizens participating in an unauthorized event in the center of Moscow, near Sretensky Boulevard, in response to the legal requirements of law enforcement officers who secured public order, were hit by an employee of the Russian Guard, threw him to the ground and continued to beat him."

After this incident, the presidential managers turned to the drivers of his fleet with a request to think through the routes of travel in Moscow so that "to avoid the possible manifestation of aggression by participants in the inconsistent rally."

On January 23, more than 110 Russian cities were held in support of Alexei Navalny. According to MBH Media, at least 110 thousand people took part in them. The number of detainees throughout the country exceeded 3,500 people. More than 20 thousand took part in Moscow, 1360 people were detained.
