The court arrested a St. Petersburg resident in the case of an attack on traffic inspectors during a rally

The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested local resident Nikolai the Ninth, accused of being a traffic inspector at a rally in support of politician Alexei Navalny. This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

Nine pleaded guilty and asked for house arrest, the release said. He was sent to pre-trial detention until March 23.

The 36-year-old IT specialist was detained the day before, on January 24.

According to the Investigative Committee, during the rally, in response to a traffic inspector’s request to maintain order, a St. Petersburg resident hit the security officer in the face with his fist, causing him to fall onto the asphalt. Then the Ninth, according to the Investigative Committee, hit another policeman in an attempt to escape.
