In Rostov-on-Don, the coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters, Ksenia Seredkina, disappeared. Lawyer Dmitry Petrov told OVD-Info about this.
According to his information, on January 25, Seredkina’s administrative arrest, which was appointed on the eve of the January 23 rally in support of Alexei Navalny, expired. Local activists came to the special detention center to meet the headquarters coordinator. Employees of the institution stated that Seredkina left the special detention center through an exit on the other side of the building, which only law enforcement officers know about, so the activists were never able to meet her. Presumably, Navalny's chief of staff could be detained again.
Seredkina never made contact; her whereabouts are unknown.
19:00 Ksenia Seredkina was detained again, she is charged with disobedience to the demands of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code). The activist is being taken to court, and a lawyer from “Apology of Protest” is visiting her, according to the project’s Telegram channel.
23:00 Seredkina was sentenced to 8 days of arrest, reports Apology of Protest.
28 January 13:22 The Rostov regional court rejected the appeal against Seredkina’s arrest, writes the head of the international human rights group “Agora” Pavel Chikov. In justifying the possibility of assigning a day to the mother of a young child, the court stated that the child could be looked after by the grandmother.
Chikov emphasized that Seredkina’s arrest contradicts the norms of the Code of Administrative Offences.
