Ekaterina Mikhailovna Allenova was born in 1966 in Vladimir, graduated from the Gnesin music school in the Alta class (1987), a department of history and art theory of the History Faculty of Moscow State University (1994) and graduate school of the State Institute of Art of Art (1998), specialized in Russian painting of the second half of the XIX century.
She taught a violin at a music school, gave lectures on the history of art in the gymnasium. In 1998-2002, she was deputy head of the publishing department of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin, in 2002–2004 - chief specialist of the department of the State Council of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation in the Ministry of Culture.
From 2004 to 2009, she worked as a literary editor of Arthronika magazine, then - the editor of Art+Auciton Russia , since 2010, was the literary editor of the magazine and the Arthid website, and since 2013 - the editor of the Garage Russia magazine.
The daughter of Honored Professor of Moscow State University, art historian Mikhail Allenova (1942–2018), Ekaterina Allenova was the author of monographs about Vasily Perov, Ilya Repin, Valentina Serov and the editor of a significant number of noticeable art history publications.
