On the protest campaign on January 23 in St. Petersburg, according to the latest data from the OTD-Info, more than 570 people were detained. Many complained about cruelty from law enforcement officers - people were beaten with batons, one of the participants in the rally, the policeman hit his stomach.

“Paper” spoke with four victims at a rally, including journalists.

"Paper" did not receive a commentary on the Ministry of Internal Affairs about tough detentions. Speaker of Zaksa Vyacheslav Makarov thanked the employees of the Russian Guard and the police who worked for protest.

- I went to the action, because this is my civil position: I do not agree with what is happening now.

At first, my girlfriend and I were at the Cathedral of Isaac, just walked with the whole crowd, there were more and more people. Then the participants of the action began to scare, take it in the ring, and we heard an exclamation that everyone was going to Palace. There was a cordon, so we went to Marse Field.

At Marsov, we first looked at everything from the side, did not shout. Some people climbed into marble slabs, we also did it and began to chant "Freedom to Navalny!" And other slogans - for which we gathered.

When we left the processes, we saw that people play snowballs, and I also began to throw them. We did not throw them into riot police, just aside. And one of the employees, having confused me with a man, began to shout: "You are a petoussra, we will run to you now, you are coming around."

A bunch of people in uniforms ran to me who knocked me down, and then beat me on the face and in the stomach. When they carried me to Avtosak, I asked them to intercept my left leg, because it was very painful, they broke off the joint. They answered me: "Be patient."

In Avtosak, I had a state of affect or something like that, I tried to get out of there, and the other detainees reassured me. Although some of them were there because of me-when they dragged me, they asked why the police are doing this.

We were delivered to the police department No. 37, where I called an ambulance. When she arrived, police officers tried to take me away from the doctors, citing the fact that I need to immediately testify. My passport was taken from the doctors, taken to the office where the rest of the detainees were sitting. I was shot on video when I talked about why I went to the rally, they gave me a protocol. As far as I remember, it was written about violation of coronavirus restrictions. To be honest, in that state I could not be aware that I was accurately signing. I could not take photos either, because my mobile was defeated during the detention.

After that, the ambulance took me to the Pokrovsky hospital on Vasilievsky Island, but the rest of the detainees, the police said that I was taken to Sestroretsk. I had a general examination, ultrasound, x -ray of the whole body, but did not give a single paper about it. I have in my hands only a certificate that I have damage to the soft tissues. The right eye has a strong bruise, the seams parted on the right hand near the little finger (shortly before the action, they had surgery), nothing was said about this.

I plan to pick up all my tests from the hospital to contact the prosecutor's office. My girlfriend has already contacted lawyers.

- I came to a rally for covering protests, I had an editorial task from The Insider. I was detained on the Square of the uprising, next to the obelisk "Gorod-hero Leningrad"-at that moment the participants in the action began to block Ligovsky Prospekt.

When the police and riot police arrived there, they began to harshly disperse and beat people. I tried to shoot beatings when they first wanted to detain me, but I managed to dodge me.

Then a police officer ran up to me - in uniform and helmet, but without a token. The man grabbed me with his hand by the neck, bending his elbow, and dragged me into the car carrier, although I did not resist and, in principle, could reach myself. While he dragged me, it seems, twice hit me with a club in the legs. When we were at Avtosak, he continued to hold my neck, I stopped grabbing air, my jaw was very ill. I could not stand evenly and constantly fell, so other police officers or the Russian Guard, it was difficult to discern, began to pull me into the car carrier by the hair and dragged me on the floor.

I have short hair, I was in a protective mask and shapeless clothes, so they took me for a guy. When they dragged me, they shouted: "Come here, not here." First they threw me at one, then at the second chair, and when I already wanted to sit down, they grabbed a backpack and dragged it to another place. I was the first in this car carrier, therefore, unfortunately, no one photographed it. Now I am looking for a video of my detention in order to introduce to a request to initiate a criminal case.

When the car carrier had just begun to fill, several men were thrown right at me. A man in uniform approached one of the detainees and began to pull his hood over his head, insult, although the man was just sitting silently.

Then there were about 25 more people with me [in Avtosak]. They were also hardly started, no one was allowed to go independently. One minor girl, who was pushed into a car zak with a mother and brother, began a panic attack. Another girl, also a minor, tried to help her, but she began to beat her in the face and batons for this. The other man was also hard to drag on the bus and stepped on the throat. I did not see everything out of this with my own eyes, because I sat at the very end of the car, and as it was filled, I did not understand what was happening at the beginning. But then we talked with the detainees about everything that happened.

There was another journalist with me in Avtozak, Arseny Vesnin from Echo of Moscow (read his story further - approx. “ Paper” ). He was detained despite the fact that he had all the identification signs, including the press vest. He also tried to remove beatings, and he got it, he was beaten and insulted. He called from the bus to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg, demanded to free him because he was a journalist, talked about me, but no one reacted in any way.

We were first taken to department No. 35, where Arseny went out with part of the detainees, the rest were sent to department No. 86 in the Primorsky district, where protocols on violation of the improving regime in connection with the pandemia of the coronavirus began to draw up on us. All who were with me received protocols only under this article.

The defender from the “Human Rights Promotives” was sent to me, but she was not allowed, demanding a power of attorney certified by a notary that she represents my interests. Then she called a friendly lawyer who used the warrant and was able to represent my interests without a power of attorney.

I do not agree with the violation imputed to me, I wrote a long explanation, telling that I was a journalist and they beat me. My editorial task was not accepted in the department at all, my editor-in-chief tried to contact the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vyacheslav Stepchenko, he said that he understood and decided the issue, but in the end he did not solve, or maybe he did not try to solve.

I immediately turned to the doctors to remove beatings, and the next day I wrote a statement in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Central District, since I had to submit a document at the place of detention. I attached an extract from the emergency room to him and the editorial task. I also filed complaints with the prosecutor’s office and the Commissioner for Human Rights.

I can’t say that the actions of the security forces surprised me, I expected that there would be hard detentions. But I was surprised that even representatives of the press, who were with all distinctive signs, beat me.

-I went to the action as an activist, my position is neutral, I do not support any parties. When I was detained, I was on Senate Square. People have already gone to Palace, and I stayed so that I would not be introduced to the unauthorized rally.

I got up in a single picket with a poster on which it was written: “While we exist, there will be an evil ice / and the major will slip, the major will fall / after all, the ice under the Major’s feet.” Two employees in uniform approached me and said that we have forbidden single pickets. I replied that this was not so, from my hands I showed them documents, and they called for help, they whispered about something and invited me to hand over the poster. Then they let go.

When I stepped away, I was caught up with five policemen, they fell to the ground and, during the arrest, they greatly cut my right hand, the left was also damaged. I have bruises and abrasions. I was put in a car zakak, neither napkins nor water were given, and I flooded the whole floor with blood. The detainees helped: there were seven people with me in Avtosak. I don’t know how the rest were detained, but there was a minor who was interrogated without parents. We told him not to answer until they arrived. The police tried to intimidate him: that he would be taken from loved ones, excluded from school.

The detainees were delivered to the 30th police department. For some reason, I was considered a minor, apparently they forgot that I showed them a passport, and then I already refused to get it. In the department, I asked to call an ambulance, the doctors arrived about an hour later, poured their hands with peroxide and said that I needed to lay the seams. But the police asked them to leave me until I sign all the papers.

In Avtosak, I was about an hour, in the police station 3.5 hours. After I was released, I immediately went to the emergency room to fix the beating. I was diagnosed with a bruised wound of the right hand and abrasion of the left. Now a lawyer from the “protest apology” helps me for free, we sent an application in the IC by registered letter. We will wait.

- When the action was nearing the end, the protesters came to the Square of the uprising, blocked Nevsky and Ligovsky avenues and stood at the obelisk. People began to chant the slogans, and I understood that this would attract the attention of riot police, so he was also there and was broadcasting on the YouTube channel.

At some point, riot police really arrived and ran to people. This is far from the first time I work on promotions, so in such situations I never run, on the contrary, I move very calmly so that no one has the feeling that I am participating in this action so that everyone can see that I am a journalist. I was wearing a yellow press and a press card.

I go and see that three young people are on the asphalt, and people in bulletproof vests and helmets without tokens and without chevrons beat them with batons. I stopped, began to shoot it, and then some other people appeared around, and law enforcement officers took us into the ring, also periodically beaten someone with batons. I flew a couple of times, tried to hit my leg, apparently so that I fell, but I did not fall.

I can’t say that all this was very painful: when in the summer you work for promotions and flies with a club, much more big. And then I had a down jacket, sweater, a sweater with a long sleeve and a T -shirt, and that which arrived through the body, in general, was not very painful.

Then they began to get us on the bus. They pushed with their hands, legs, batons. No one was presented, the employees had no distinctive signs, but I had a dofiga of the distinguishing signs of the journalist. I calmly told them: "You are violating the law, I am a journalist, you have no right to detain me." To which they told me: "I went, then we will deal with you." They pushed, some kind of kick was behind.

They tried to compact us on the bus, and those who resisted were beaten with batons. One girl and guy was laid on the floor of the bus and beat with batons and legs because they shouted: "The Nazis, what you are doing, should be ashamed." I shot these beatings and tried to ask questions in order to somehow influence the situation and draw the attention of employees to the fact that this is removed, that this is a violation of the law.

One of the beaten saw that I was shooting, demanded to give the phone. When I refused, he began to select the phone, almost broke it, it is good that I have a strong anti -jacket case. The phone was taken, and after five minutes it was returned to another police officer - a more or less adequate person with whom I made contact. Thank you very much for it.

We were brought to the 35th police department. Everything was calmer there, they began to talk to us, let people go to the toilet, and gave me a drink. The head of the department spoke several times with someone from the headquarters when I asked him if I could go, he said: "No, no, let's wait." And more than half an hour I was in the police department. I was released, I don’t know, specifically or not, when the action in the Gostiny Dvor was already ending.
